ICAO hosts a Sumposium with exhibition on machine readable travel documents (MRTDs), biometrics and security standards.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), will hold its Fourth Symposium on ICAO MRTDs, Biometrics and Security Standards on 6‑8 October 2008 at the ICAO Headquarters in Montreal. An Exhibition will complement the Symposium and highlight important products and services related to MRTDs, biometric identification and border inspection systems.
The 2008 Symposium follows last year’s successful event, attended by over 450 participants from States, international organizations, companies and institutions. The presentations and handouts will be available only in English. In addition, simultaneous interpretation will be available in French, Spanish and Russian. 
ICAO is seeking the participation of officials of passport and official ID document issuing agencies, immigration, customs, and other border control and security authorities. Officials from airlines and airports involved in passenger service systems, handling of travel documents, facilitation and aviation security should also participate.
