Artificial Intelligence Working Group

The Artificial Intelligence Working Group aims to support the development of a strong European AI security market. Its work focuses on the definition of common European requirements, identification of technological and capability gaps and solutions, and implementation of AI-focused capability development plan for security.

POLICY ACTIVITIES AND OBJECTIVES

The Working Group's core objectives include:

  • Promote the funding of research and the implementation of European security capability deployment programmes aimed at favouring market de-fragmentation by ensuring the uptake of European AI products and systems
  • Develop a security ecosystem conductive of attracting private and public investments in European AI-focused start-ups and SMEs.
  • Work toward the implementation of a cooperation framework among private and public stakeholders in order to define common European requirements, identify technological and capability gaps and solutions, and implement an AI-focused capability development plan for security.
  • Work to ensure the link between EU-funded R&I activities and capability development.
  • Work to promote synergies among different EU funds to ensure the success of AI research and capability uptake.
  • Support the establishment and the activities of the EOS “European Security Industry Artificial Intelligence Council.

REPRESENTATION IN RELEVANT EXPERT GROUPS

EOS’ AI Working Group engages directly with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, EU Agencies and Bodies, as well as national authorities, end-users and other stakeholders engaged with Artificial Intelligence.
